Hi, today I want to tell you about a book I read. It's funny how when we
read a book, it reminds us of something in our lives. Sometimes it
seems like we were even destined to read the book at that certain moment
in our lives that is reflected in the book. This has been happening to
me a lot lately which only shows me that God is helping me find answers
at the times when I am truly looking for them.
This happened when I recently read a book called the Christmas Box. While I was reading this book, it made me think of someone that is very dear to me. You see, in the book this family lost a daughter and the mother had a very hard time getting over her death. It hit home so much since I had someone very dear to me lose a daughter at the age of 25. Her mother was exactly like the mother in the book; she couldn't accept her daughter's death and she stayed very depressed.
Now this same mother has another daughter who has 4 children of her own. She is now in very bad health, and her mother is afraid she is going to lose her last daughter. She told me she couldn't bear to lose another daughter so I ask all of you to please pray for this family as they've had such a rough time with all their loss. It's at times like this that truly test your faith and make you grateful to have God there by your side giving you strength even when you feel all alone in the world. Isn't it funny how we can be surrounded by family and friends, but at times like this, we can feel so all alone.
Well, in the Christmas box, they tell about an angel that was placed on the little girls grave. There are about 26 angels around the world like this and one of them is in Minnesota, so I went to visit a relative there. Once I stood in front of that angel statue, I truly felt blessed for having a healthy loving family and broke down crying feeling so lucky for the life I have. It's funny how when you read a book you just don't think it can affect people so much.
I read online that there are now 100 angel statues being made around the world because of this message so it shows the power of the written word can do some real good in helping people overcome loss.
